Young Homeowners League

Who We Are

Our vision is to ramp up to 40,000 starter homes annually in the City of Houston and within commuting distance. Our baseline starter home is 1000 to 1400 sqft size, priced $150k to $200k. 75% high school students could be working before and after graduation, assuming 25% expecting their college costs covered by family or full scholarships. 35% youth could help building starter homes, while 10% going on to full-time construction careers. Majority of youth could maintain homeownership plan and be homeowner by age 25.

Half of Houston population can live in walkable communities with more carpooling/vanpooling to reduce car ownership costs.

Donation based fund can be setup for working mothers to receive paid maternity leave and working parents to receive childcare assistance for 0-5 year-old kids, especially when their income increase disqualified them from government subsidy.

What We Do

Help youth make homeownership plans, including working, saving, and helping develop more starter homes to become young homeowners. If $150k is still too high for owning a home 100%, we help buyers choose ways to own 1/2 or 1/4 of a home.

Organize construction training and student-led enterprises in construction to build starter homes.

Organize other student-led enterprises in such area like land development, commuting without owning a car, home-based childcare, urban farming, etc.
