Who We Are

The Coalition for the Homeless (CFTH) believes that we can create and sustain a community where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.

What We Do

On any given night, in our three-county area, approximately 2,220 people are staying in a homeless shelter, and 1,100 people are sleeping on the streets or another place not meant for human habitation. While the total number of people experiencing homelessness is down more than 60% since 2011, it is still not acceptable.

Solving homelessness isn’t easy. It takes many partners working together – and one agency to coordinate them.

That’s CFTH—the backbone of Houston's solutions to homelessness. We coordinate over 100 partners to create a collective impact, focusing on data-driven strategies that solve housing barriers and optimize resources. Collaboration and a focus on housing with supportive services have helped us house more than 32,000 people since 2012. Your support helps us continue this work, driving the evolution of our homeless response system and making a lasting difference.
