Bayou Village School

Founded in 2010, Bayou Village School is a community of families, educators and other area members who share the goal of providing accessible Waldorf education to Central Houston. We currently offer toddler through 6th grade. We are a licensed childcare facility by the State of Texas and a developing member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. At Bayou Village School we aim to create a nurturing environment that generates a lifelong enthusiasm for learning. Our teachers strive to educate the whole child; head, heart, hands through our creative, artistic, and experiential curriculum. Through Waldorf education and our core values of sustainability, mindfulness, inclusion, service, and community we are committed to prioritizing critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence in order to foster individuals with a sense of responsibility for themselves, their communities, and the earth. ​Located in the Greater Northside community of Houston, just five minutes north of downtown, our staff and families reflect our city; the most diverse city in the United States. We are proud to represent a vibrant community of families from varied backgrounds and cultures sharing common ground in our desire to raise our children in the warm, nurturing environment Bayou Village School provides.
