Who We Are

Haiti-Now is dedicated to empowering Haitian girls living in domestic servitude to overcome poverty and exploitation to achieve economic security.

With a safe home and supportive community, all Restavek children can thrive. Thousands of Haiti’s most vulnerable girls have been uprooted from their homes. Whether driven by poverty, conflict, or natural disaster--or all three--they end up in the same situation: living as unpaid domestic servants in homes that will never be their own. They endure hunger, neglect, abuse and the threat of human traffickers. We can help. Haiti Now is building a safe-house dedicated to the long-term empowerment of Restavek girls. The Residential School will provide a safe house, an accelerated education program, mental health, emotional support, mentoring, arts, sports, and healthy socialization with peers and adults and a business incubator. Our goal is to provide the comprehensive support needed for Restavek girls to build healthy and economically secure futures, all under one roof.

What We Do

We empower girls living in domestic servitude (aka “Restavek”) to achieve self-reliant and economically secure futures.
