Women Connection, Inc. is hosting our Tiny Treasures Community Event for single parents with children ages 0–3 years on September 27th from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Quality Inn & Suites NRG-Park – Medical Center (2364 S. Loop W., Houston, TX 77054).

We are seeking in-kind donations (baby essentials, toys, diapers, wipes, clothing, snacks, etc.) to help us bless families in need. Your generosity will go a long way in creating a memorable day of joy and support for these parents and their little ones.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us:
✔️ Organize and set up the event
✔️ Host fun activities and games for children ages 0–3
✔️ Assist families throughout the day

We are looking for in-kind donations for our upcoming 2025 Pickleball Festival + Tournament (https://www.steme.org/pickleball-festival).

The Annual Pickleball Festival is a fun family event, supporting the  STEM·E Youth Career Development Program, Greater Houston Pickleball, and the Houston Parks & Recreation Department’s Youth Sports pickleball development.

This annual festival includes a pickleball tournament and numerous family-friendly activities, including a bouncy house, corn hole toss, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, silent auction (see items below), and amazing raffles (Bourbon pool, pickleball accessories, and more, see items below). Breakfast, lunch and dessert food trucks will be present to sell meals throughout the event, along with adult-beverage booths, all helping to give back. Booths will be present to provide information about our community programs and opportunities to sign up and benefit! Also check out our list of Celebrity Players and appearances!

If you have any encyclopedias, math, science, sports, health books or Spanish books you’re no longer using, please consider donating them to our organization.

Children 4 Tomorrow is needing needing snacks and coffee for parenting classes and  snacks for Youth Group Therapy Classes.  

This can be in either in a form of a gift card to a grocery store or Sam's Wholesale or Costco OR the snacks and coffee themselves.  The organization has 2 Keurig Coffee Makers so the coffee needs to be the coffee pods.  

Children 4 Tomorrow has transition to virtual therapy for youth due to the pandemic.  We are in need of computers (laptops) for these youth in order  to participate in the therapy. 

The needs for our nonprofit organization are tremendous.  Our underserved communities are struggling to cope with the anxiety, depression, trauma and hopelessness that cause mental and physical illnesses. Its effect has been amplified due to the long duration of the pandemic quarantine in which none of us expected or planned for, and has caused havoc on the entire world.  Statistics now show that the issue of PTSD and trauma are on the rise in communities similar to ours due to the pandemic.

The program provides a virtual evidence-based protocol that provides mental health services in disaster aftermath crisis (such as trauma) and has fulfilled the mental health population’s needs since 2007.  

For some of these kids to participate in the program they need a laptop computer for the 2 week 6 session duration.  We will be able to loan out computer before the sessions and pick them up when the sessions are completed and move to another group of youth.

With your organization, office, neighborhood, friends, etc. host a most needed items drive at the site of your choice ( ex: your office, home, kids sporting event,etc).  All items must be new, with tags, or in original packaging. 

Current most needed items include:

flashlights with batteries

stuffed animals

socks, 12 mo- adult

underwear, 3T- adult small

hairbrushes and combs

athletic clothing, sizes children's 9/10-adult small in both genders

We are in continuing need of non-perishable pantry staples such as canned beans and vegetables, pasta, dry beans and rice, boxed meals, meals or meat in a can (chili, tuna, hearty soups), canned tomatoes and pasta sauce, pasta, and peanut butter. These items can be dropped in our "Feed Frank" donation box located in our parking lot at any time. If you have a large donation, it is best to contact the Pantry at himpantry@gmail.com to schedule a specific delivery time.

Our Mobile Outreach team members distribute snack packs as they meet individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Our case managers also distribute them. Easy-open protein items provide a great food source for our clients. Volunteers consult the list below and choose six or more of the items to package in Ziploc bags.  Clients often find it most helpful when snack packs contain a mix of no-chew (e.g. applesauce, pudding) and chewy items to accommodate all levels of dental health.  You are free to place an encouraging note in each pack!  Please don’t include last names, contact information, seasonal references, dates, or religious references.

Hello Houston,

We are actively recruiting committee members to assist the American Lung Association in Texas.  The American Lung Association is hosting a number of events throughout the state and currently has a need for members in Houston that can help us with our event planning for 2025.  If you are interested, please let me know, we are continually searching for motivated individuals with lots of creative ideas that can develop into top fundraising opportunities.

The Holiday season is a time to be filled with joy and happiness, for some this may not be the case. All children and teens deserve to have something under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. This is where we need your help.  We need new unwrapped toys for the Holiday season. The age range from newborn to 18.  I know sometimes it is hard to buy for teens so gift cards are welcome too.  Gift cards for fast food, Walmart, Target , Amazon are great examples. Please reach out to Amy.vern@Cy-hope.org if you or your company would like to host. We would greatly appreciate it.
