Needs From: Volunteer Houston

We are looking for an intern who loves animals and has a social media account. Our social media intern would focus on social media campaigns and strategy and must have skill using instagram.

Needs:
- taking videos of your own animals or using videos from fosters, rescues, and other volunteers
- creating cute videos inside instagram or facebook for social media posting
- creating collaborative posts with partner animal rescues
- create and manage a new tik tok account maybe
- get approval on new ideas and run with them
- repost from other nonprofit animal accounts
- create 3 new posts per week and schedule the reels
- share a story on instagram/fb daily
- set up a social media strategy
- tasks from the google sheet list

To apply, please include the following information: 

1. Age (for volunteers under 18, the founder will need to call your parent/guardian for verbal permission for you to volunteer and also receive a written email of permission from them)

2. How much time would you like to devote to helping Meow Pups Org in total or ongoing per week?  For internships, we ask that you devote 3-5 hours per week

3. Do you have any pets?

4. Do you need us to sign anything for hours interned or volunteered?

5. Are you interested in our in person events in Houston on April 18, 25th, May 3rd or May 9th?

If you are a cat lover, volunteer to help our beloved furry friends.  In LCPA's Kitty Condo Krewe program, cats and kittens ready for adoption are shown and adopted seven days a week in “condos” at 6 area pet supply stores in League City, Clear Lake and Kemah.  As a volunteer of the Kitty Condo Krewe, you sign up to love and play with the kitties, feed them, and clean the condo units.  It only takes about an hour, and it means the world to the cats and kittens who are waiting to be adopted into wonderful homes.

All that’s required is a one-hour hands-on training, after which you can sign up when you have a bit of time.  You can sign up for a morning shift or a late afternoon/evening shift (arrival times are flexible).  Volunteer qualifications:  Must love cats and kittens, be at least 16, dependable, have reliable transportation, and want to help cats and kittens stay healthy and get adopted into loving, forever homes.  Men, women, couples, retired seniors, teenagers, child (age 9+)/parent teams are all welcome to volunteer.

The public relations volunteer will assist with contacting journalists.

The PR volunteer can also help with anything the PR intern is responsible for such as:

- Media Relations: Building and maintaining media lists, drafting press releases, and pitching stories to journalists
- Content Creation: Developing content for social media platforms, blog posts, and newsletters and assist the Social Media Intern
- Events & Administration: Assisting with the planning of announcements, product releases and events with our partner nonprofit animal rescues. Develop a PR strategy and schedule. 

Must have access to google sheets, google docs, email, etc

The Event Coordinator position is both in person once a month and remote event coordination between events with our partner animal rescues. 

This will require: 

- event coordination with partner rescues and meow pups volunteers

- setting up the meow pups org table at upcoming events

- spreading awareness of our mission

- volunteer coordination 

- collecting physical donations like gently used, clean bedding and towels

- possibly downloading a POS app on your phone

- comfort around and interaction with dogs, cats, and people!

- help with volunteer coordination 
- contact vet offices
- provide opinions on new campaigns and products

As a dog behavior volunteer, you will help provide various enrichment needs to our dogs (think kongs and nose work!). Enrichment volunteers are essential to help improve the daily lives of our dogs at the shelter.* Our Behavior volunteer program is a five-step program, and you'll start out as a BV1 volunteer (behavior volunteer - level 1). Our behavior program is truly one-of-a-kind. You'll learn such much, like how animals communicate, different types of enrichment, how to read body language, learning theory, and so much more. 

Current Behavior Dog Volunteer shifts from from 2-5PM every day - including weekends.

PetSmart Volunteer – We have some of our cats that show at the PetSmart cattery on South Shepherd and always need more volunteers who are interested in helping socialize the cats, clean the cages, feed the cats, and answer questions from the public.
