Needs From: Volunteer Houston

Can you help Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM) thank it's supporters? Houstonians are so generous that we need extra help keeping track of the donations that are sent in and help getting the thank you letters out as quickly as we can during the holiday season! IM feeds 4,000 seniors every day through Meals on Wheels, helps welcome refugee families into their new lives and organizes interfaith programming. 

We could use help making copies, stuffing letters and other light administrative support. Help with data entry is also needed, but not required.  

We are also very flexible with hours.  If you could help between 2-10 hours a week until the New Year, that would really help!! The work does need to be done onsite in our office in Midtown. Parking is really easy!

The need is critical now, but there is a similar need all year round.

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston's busy Development Office is seeking a volunteer or volunteers to provide assistance with its special events. Tasks may include clerical duties, stuffing envelopes, social media, procuring auction items, running errands, etc. Seeking volunteers who can help out weekdays within normal business hours. Office is located in Midtown.

IM's busy Development (fund raising) office needs volunteers to help with donor relations tasks. These include preparing letters and invitations to be mailed, stuffing envelopes, making phone calls to donors, internet research, and other clerical tasks. We are looking for volunteers who can give several hours of their time each week during normal business houes.

Interfaith Ministries' Meals on Wheels program needs volunteers to help stick labels to boxes of emergency meals during the month of October. Individuals or groups welcome.

Refugee Services, in conjunction with the U.S. State Department, resettles hundreds of refugees in Houston each year and helps thousands of our newest neighbors successfully acculturate to American life.

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston's Refugee Services Program is in need of infant/toddler car seats that are free of recalls. Items donated should be in new condition and will be distributed to families enrolled in our Refugee Services programs.

You do not need to respond to this need to donate. Just stop by and drop off or ship items at the address below.

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston Women's Empowerment Group/Preferred Communities Programs are in need of volunteers who are eager to provide care to children while their parents participate in sessions. 

Child ages range from Infant to 5 years old

**All childcare volunteers must be 18 and up are required to have a background check before volunteering.

We need volunteer support to help us sort and organize our donation closet! Our closet is a vital way for refugee families to select essential items like clothes, hygiene items, and kitchenware. With the number of donations we received, the closet can get disorganized quickly. Because of this, we are looking for volunteers to help sort and organize our donation closet so the families we serve can have a safe and easy time finding the items they need to acclimate in Houston.

This is a flexible opportunity and can be done in our offices during office hours (8:30am-5pm, Monday-Friday)

All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation, fill out an application, and submit a background check in order to volunteer with IMGH Refugee Services. If you are interested, please reach out to CEVolunteer@imgh.org.
