Needs From: Volunteer Houston

We need volunteers to help with adoptions on some weekends. We also need help with transport taking them to & from each store.

We need volunteers for these locations:
PETSMART - Katy I-10/Fry - 19945 Katy Frwy, Houston, TX 77094      PETSMART - Shoppes at Parkwest - 24600 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77493

You can volunteer for both days or one day, the whole time or 2 or more hours. We ask volunteers to come at the beginning of the shift to help with setting up or come later and stay until the end of the shift to help with closing or you can volunteer for the whole time.  Even a few hours can make a difference

This is a great opportunity to bring a significant other or friends to help.
Volunteers need to be 16 or older to volunteer for adoption events.

You can volunteer for adoptions at the stores or for transport to help bring the dogs to adoptions or both.

We need help transporting puppies and dogs to and from adoption events on some weekends and also to & from vet appointments and shelter pick up during the week.

Larger vehicles - Full to mid-size SUVs or trucks are needed for weekend adoption events. Smaller vehicles are ok for vet drop off and pick up and shelter pick up.

Weekend adoption events:                                                                                                                                                   Pets need to be picked up at one location in the Missouri City area and transported to the Katy PetSmarts.  They also need to be picked up at the end of the day and transported back to the Missouri City location. Pets will be in transport crates for weekend adoptions and vet drop off and pick up. Volunteers need to be 18 or older.

Mutts & Meows Rescue needs volunteers to help with our inhouse cat care at 2 local Petsmarts in the Katy area. 

Multiple shifts are available 7 days a week. Shifts are 2 hour segments and tasks include feeding the cats, cleaning the liter boxes, cleaning the cages, and socializing with the cats.  Volunteers must be 16 years or older.  For the safety of the volunteers and the cats, all volunteers much be trained first.  Training session can be counted as volunteer hours.

Mutts and Meows Rescue

The volunteer coordinator organizes weekend adoption events for our adoption locations by making sure we have enough volunteers signed up for adoptions and transport for animals to & from each location.

The volunteer coordinator maintains volunteer email lists and sends volunteer email requests through the week.

The volunteer coordinator needs to be able to respond to emails in a timely manner and provide information about scheduling and adoption events. 

There are also many other computer needs through the week for responding to adoption inquiries, sending foster requests and recruiting volunteers for transport to and from vet appointments and picking up at shelters on week days, etc.

This position requires a lot of free time and someone that is available daily for volunteer coordinator needs.

Must have good communication skills and computer knowledge. Proficient in MS office is a plus.

We need a computer programmer that can create an automated signup program for weekend adoptions events.   We need to be able to accommodate bulk email lists of over 2,000 emails.   The ideal program could be sent to the bulk email list and allow volunteers to sign up for the location, day & time they are volunteering for.   Please email for more details.

We are a foster based Houston area shelter rescue and are in dire need of foster homes.

We have many puppies and dogs, kittens and cats on a waiting list to get out of the shelter. We do not have a shelter and depend
on individuals to provide a foster home to save them at the shelter.

Once we have a committed foster home, we can save a dog or cat from the shelter.

To foster you will need to care for the dog or cat in your home and bring to adoptions on the weekend at one of our adoption locations until adopted.
