Wesley's Food Pantry needs volunteers for the Drive-thru Food Distribution to help our Houston neighbors who are in desperate need of food.

Duties include:

Organize, sort, and stock donated food items, including loading and unloading freezers and refrigerators, and shelves.Fill grocery bags with food to take out to client cars. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the pantry.

Skills Needed:

The ability to uphold our standards of client confidentiality.The ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift to 30 pounds.

Volunteers needed:

Every 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (limit 15 volunteers)

Our address is 1235 Lorraine St. Please arrive 10 minutes before your shift. Parking is available on the street, being careful not to block driveways, and enter at the large gate on Gano St. If you are running late for your shift, please call 713.821.8950.

Volunteer: Garden Maintenance Volunteers Needed - Wesley Community Center

Volunteers will assist with planting and maintaining 14 raised garden beds that grow a variety of fruits and vegetables using organic practices. The garden supports our community pantry, with 98% of the harvest donated and 2% available for volunteers to take home.

Volunteers will help care for the garden year-round, including watering, weeding, harvesting, and protecting plants based on weather conditions. The pantry is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and on the third and fourth Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Currently, we have two volunteers who assist once a week and one volunteer who helps more frequently, and we are looking to expand our volunteer team. No prior gardening experience is required—just a willingness to help and learn!
