Location: Houston – Fully Remote/Zoom

Hours: Part-time – after school and weekends

About Us:

Texans Tutor Texans is a NEW nonprofit in Houston that is dedicated to creating accessible educational experiences that foster lifelong learning for public school students who are in need of academic support outside school hours. We offer one-on-one tutoring sessions and drop-in group sessions for general schoolwork assistance. We are looking for high school students who are interested in interning as tutors with us for school credit or volunteer hours. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

One-on-one tutoring or reading with a studentHomework assistance – hourly group sessions with up to 5 children Follow any lesson plans for individualized activities for struggling studentsReporting to lead instructor as necessaryCompleting timesheets, student activity & attendance logs

 

Qualifications:

 

Access to a reliable internet connection, a reliable computer, and necessary software applications (Zoom)  Strong communication skills and attention to detailMust be a student in college, high school or other educational institution
