SPLASh is proud to lead a series of cleanups at Monument Inn as part of the World Cup Bayou Cleanup Project and Trash Free Gulf Campaign. This is a citywide effort to remove trash, reduce pollution, and better understand how major events impact our waterways. SPLASh excited to host multiple cleanup events near the Monument Inn Restaurant and are grateful for your support in making a positive impact while contributing valuable data to this effort.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have two ways to participate:

General Cleanup Volunteer – Help remove trash; no data collection required.Data Collection Volunteer – Assist staff with a guided trash transect to collect and itemize debris. If you wish to participate in as a Data Collection Volunteer, please arrive by 9:00 AM to participate. No prior training needed.

What to Bring

Clothes you can get dirty (long pants recommended, heat permitting)Closed-toed shoesRefillable water bottleSunscreen & bug spray (also available onsite)

Please note that access to the cleanup area requires walking over rocks to reach the beach. This can take some coordination, and staff will be available to help guide and assist along the safest pathway. Expect uneven, beach-like terrain and areas with overgrowth.
