We're so glad you'll be joining us at our cleanup on Sunday July, 5th from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Sylvan Beach Park in La Porte! We hope to clean up the area after July 4th to remove any trash and debris left behind from the previous day's festivities.

We’re so glad you’ll be joining us for our Winter in July Cleanup! 

Gather your friends, family, and neighbors and enjoy a little winter magic in the middle of summer while giving back to the community. Together, we’ll help keep our waterways and green spaces clean while enjoying bird-friendly crafts, a holiday decoration swap, and other festive activities. This free, family-friendly event is open to all ages, and no experience is necessary.

Waivers

General Cleanup Volunteer: Cleanup trash in the area, no data collection required.

Data Collection Volunteer: Staff will lead a random bag sample with your help! You will be guided in proper protocol to collect & itemize trash. Arrive by 7:45am to learn how, no prior training required.

Supplies

You will be responsible for dressing appropriately, wearing close-toed shoes & long pants, bringing a reusable water bottle, and any additional supplies you may need to keep you safe during the cleanup.

We will provide trash bags, grabbers, water refills, first aid supplies.

SPLASh World Cup Cleanup at Monument Inn

SPLASh is proud to lead a series of cleanups at Monument Inn as part of the World Cup Bayou Cleanup Project and Trash Free Gulf Campaign. This is a citywide effort to remove trash, reduce pollution, and better understand how major events impact our waterways. SPLASh excited to host multiple cleanup events near the Monument Inn Restaurant and are grateful for your support in making a positive impact while contributing valuable data to this effort.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have two ways to participate:

General Cleanup Volunteer – Help remove trash; no data collection required.Data Collection Volunteer – Assist staff with a guided trash transect to collect and itemize debris. If you wish to participate in as a Data Collection Volunteer, please arrive by 9:00 AM to participate. No prior training needed.

Please note that access to the cleanup area requires walking over rocks to reach the beach. This can take some coordination, and staff will be available to help guide and assist along the safest pathway. Expect uneven, beach-like terrain and areas with overgrowth.
