The purpose of the Harris County Medical Reserve Corps (HCPH MRC) program is to establish a network of medical and non-medical volunteers to strengthen public health, emergency response, and community resiliency during times of emergency as well as throughout the year.
This is accomplished by:
- Recruiting healthcare professionals and volunteers in supporting roles.
- Matching volunteers' skills to address community needs.
- Training volunteers to respond effectively to local emergencies.
- Improving awareness of individual and community preparedness through outreach and education.
Please follow these steps to register as a Harris County MRC Member:
- Register as an MRC volunteer - Click on link https://www.texasdisastervolunteerregistry.org/
- Click on “Register Now” button on the right side of the screen
- The very first thing on the application page is “Organizations” – click “Add Organization”
- A screen will pop up search for “Harris County Organizations”
- Click on the “+” plus sign which drops down all organizations within Harris County.
- Check mark the option “Harris County Medical Reserve Corps” then click on the “select” button
- The box will go away for you to then finish the application.
