Summer Volunteer Intern – Administration & Media
Earn volunteer hours while supporting meaningful community programs.
The Bridge Pantry is seeking college students and young adults who need volunteer service hours and would like to gain experience supporting a nonprofit community organization.
Summer Volunteer Interns will assist with light administrative, marketing, media, and community outreach assignments. Volunteers will work under the direction of pantry leadership and will receive instructions and support for each assigned project.
Volunteer Activities May Include
- Organizing forms, outreach materials, and program information.
- Entering approved information into spreadsheets or tracking systems.
- Preparing intake packets, appointment materials, and resource folders.
- Making reminder or follow-up phone calls using an approved script.
- Sending basic emails or text reminders under staff supervision.
- Creating flyers, graphics, social media posts, and community announcements.
- Taking photographs or short videos during approved events with permission.
- Helping schedule and organize social media content.
- Promoting food drives, volunteer opportunities, donation needs, and community events.
- Helping organize donated items, pantry supplies, and event materials.
- Assisting with event setup, registration, greeting guests, and cleanup.
- Completing other light administrative or creative projects based on the volunteer’s interests and skills.
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is ideal for college students, recent graduates, and young adults who need volunteer hours or want practical experience in nonprofit administration, communications, marketing, media, or community service.
- Dependable and able to complete assigned tasks.
- Comfortable using email, social media, or basic computer programs.
- Professional and respectful when communicating with community members.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions when assistance is needed.
- Experience with Canva, photography, video editing, writing, or social media is helpful but not required.
Schedule and Volunteer Hours
This is a flexible, short-term summer opportunity. Volunteers may serve several hours per week based on their availability and the needs of the pantry.
The Bridge Pantry can verify completed volunteer hours and provide service documentation at the end of the volunteer assignment. Volunteers are responsible for submitting any required school forms or hour logs for approval.
Important Information
Volunteers may be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before assisting with administrative assignments. Access to personal client information will be limited and provided only when necessary for an approved task.
