Organization: Partnership for the Advancement & Immersion of Refugees (PAIR)
Location: Houston, TX (various sites)
Time Commitment: 2.5 hours/week | Spring Semester 2026


⭐Opportunity Overview⭐

Help change a student's story this spring. 

PAIR is looking for caring, consistent volunteers to mentor and tutor refugee and immigrant middle school and high school students as they adjust to life in a new country. You'll support students with homework, English practice, confidence building and navigating school - all while forming meaningful connections across cultures.

No experience required - only kindness, patience and a willingness to show up every week. PAIR provides training, curriculum resources and on-site support.


What You'll Do:

  • Tutor students in homework, English and core subjects
  • Build positive, encouraging mentor relationships
  • Lead or support fun small-group activities
  • Practice communication, teamwork, and problem-solving with youth
  • Work closely with PAIR staff in a supportive, energetic environment


Requirements:

  • Must be 18+
  • Complete Volunteer Application, background check and in-person training
  • Commit to weekly sessions during Spring Semester
