- Day Captains are responsible for- assigning Activity Volunteers to activity stations, maintaining order, and being the point person to trouble shoot throughout the day
- Special Day Captain Training will be held from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm on June 12th at John Knox Presbyterian Church. Those that sign up for Day Captain will be sent a private link for the training. *If not able to attend Day Captain training on the 12th you must set up a time to meet with Holly before Camp starts.
- Volunteer Captains need to be the minimum age 15 and older.
- Shift hours 9am to 3:30pm (Total of 6.5hrs)
- Captains need to be mature, a natural leader, and not afraid to call out a volunteer or child that is misbehaving. I.e. Able to tell someone who is cursing or hitting another child to stop and tell staff, make sure the church property is treated well, and ask volunteers or children to put their cell phones away if seen playing on them.
- Will arrive in the morning to meet RaiseUp staff and help unlock, turn on A/C, and get supplies out before greeting daily volunteers.
- The Volunteer Captain will be in charge of getting volunteers signed in & name tags on, explaining the day’s goals, and assigning every volunteer to camp tasks.
- Closing duties include making sure the camp location is clean, all items have been picked up, lights have been turned off, and A/C adjusted to overnight temperature.
**On Thursdays, volunteers who sign up for this day please be aware it's our water day! On water day we will have slip-n-slides, throw water ballons, & have shaving cream fights. We cannot guarantee you will not get wet, so wear appropriate shoes and bring a towel and/or change of clothes. **
