As a social work intern with Vantage Hospice, you'll gain hands on experience in providing psychosocial support to patients and families with the assistance of a licensed social worker. As well as participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, and learning about end of life care from a compassionate, community focused team.
Tasks may include:
- Assisting with psychosocial assessments
- Supporting patients and families with emotional practical needs
- Observing and participating in care planning
- Documenting patient interactions per program standards
Vantage Hospice is currently accepting applications for Master of Social Work (MSW) student interns for the upcoming term/terms.
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited MSW program.
- Must be eligible for and enrolled in a field placement course
- Must be able to commit to the required number of internship hours (typically 400-500 hours depending on school requirements)
- Reliable transportation required: We cover Houston as well as Greater Houston. Some home visits may be part of the role.
