MUST BE A NON SMOKER. Responsible for recruitment of task force members and processing membership agreements from the key sectors of Galveston County community members. Must develop a strong familiarity of the Tobacco Task Force's logic model and functionality. Responsible for the basic understanding of the Task Force organization structure. BACODA's policies and procedures, and Task Force programmatic policies and procedures. This is a volunteer position, not a paid position. Functions: Responsible for contacting key sector community members, for serving as a liaison between the Task Force staff and the community, to provide current and accurate information about the Task Force. Responsible for developing a rapport with potential members and groups, promotion of the Task Force in the community, for documentation of Task Force activities, and other duties assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. This is not a paid position. Must have excellent communication skills. Spanish speaking a plus. Volunteer will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time, talk on telephone, working with computers, travel with personal vehicle to various places within the community.

This position ranges from a few hours a day to as many hours as you want to put into your day. You may at times be contacting physicians offices so you must be able to work during business hours that means Monday through Friday, anytime between the hours of 8:00 am through 5:00 pm.
