7:30 to 8:00 am:
3 Vols - Parking – There is limited parking at Rob Fleming Park, but we have arranged to use the parking lot at the elementary school that borders the park. Once registration becomes clear we will decide how we need to make use of that extra parking.
We will need at least 4 volunteers to direct people in the parking lots to direct walkers to the registration site.
8:00 to 11:30 am:
6 Vols - Registration, T-Shirts, Goody Bags - Help with pre-registered walkers, help with walk-up registrations for the patient & family walk, help passing out t-shirts and goodie bags.
2 Vols - Breakfast Bar - We hope to offer coffee, juice and breakfast breads. Help attendees serve themselves.
2 Vols - Memory Board – Help patients and their family members and friends create their signs and posters.
16 Vols - Cheerleaders - Stationed at the Start/Finish Line and at intervals along the 5K route holding balloons and/or signs and cheering the walkers.
At the finish line, cheerleaders pass out Participation Awards.
24 Vols - Course Marshals - Monitor course and assist runners/walkers where necessary (course directions, etc.). Collect signs as they return to site after run/walk. The courses are a bit complicated at Rob Fleming Park, so we need to make sure that no one gets lost.
6 Vols – 2 each Station - Water Station(s) - Staff Water Stations and serve water to runners or walkers for the 5K Run, for the 1 or 2-Mile Walk, and the Start/Finish.
4 Vols - Finish Line Volunteers (will include 2-4 Cheerleaders) - help at Finish Line as Run/Walk Director directs.
2 Vols - Photographers - Capture the essence of our 11th Anniversary March for Marrow Commemorative Walk. 1 Photographer will need to be on the 5K Course from 8:15-9:30 am
2 Photographer's Assistants - Help the photographer by organizing the walk teams for photographs, carrying equipment as needed, and providing general assistance.
Help Photographer with Team Schedule and Group Photo at 9:15 am.
1 Vol - First Aid Assistant - Manage use of the first aid kit.
2-3 Vols - Award Ceremony and Raffle Drawing - Help with setting up the awards and passing them out to runners. Help with Raffle Drawing and filing of winners who are unable to stay.
2 Vols - Brave Little Soles - Help Junior League Volunteers with children and their activities.
