Westbury Community Garden invites you and your family to participate in our Community Service Day on Saturday, November 20, from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM. What a great way to start the season of giving!
Activities may include
- Butterfly Garden maintenance
- Preparing for orchard planting (after Winter Storm Uri damage)
- Aisle and walkway maintenance
- Turning compost
Parents must attend with their minor children. No drop-offs, please. The volunteer activities are perfect for high school students with a community service requirement for graduation. Attendance certificates are available. Tool use and most of the tasks of the day are not appropriate for children under 12 years of age. Younger children may attend if closely supervised by their parents.
A liability waiver is required for each adult volunteer and a parent must sign for each volunteer under age 18. You’ll receive the waiver form when you sign up for the event.
Westbury Community Garden follows the Harris County COVID health guidelines. Unvaccinated individuals should avoid gatherings like this event. For vaccinated individuals, masks are required when working closely with others, even when outdoors.
Please bring your favorite garden gloves and a refillable water bottle. Close-toed shoes are required.
