DSAH is proud to celebrate our 21st annual Houston Buddy Walk on November 6th, 2021! The Houston Buddy Walk® is DSAH’s signature event, in which more than 4,500 people participated in 2019. The event is celebrated around the world - each city having its own flair. Houston’s celebration encourages inclusion within the limits of the world’s most diverse city. The day provides entertainment for all ages, including music, stage shows, carnival games, food, vendors, and more!
As a Buddy Walk volunteer, you will be helping in a variety of areas.
AM Volunteers:
- Setting up vendor booth tables/ cones on walk route/water stations
- Hanging banners and signs
- Assisting kids zone
- Blow up balloons
- Place pop up tents
- Other assigned tasks
Mid Shift Volunteers:
- Finishing last-minute details of set up
- Cheering on individuals with Down syndrome once they enter the stadium
- Kidz zone
- Helping families settle in
- Other assigned tasks
PM Volunteers:
- Welcome walkers/families
- Cheer walkers on during the walk
- Help with Kids Area activities
- Help man inflatables
- Help tear down after the walk
