Join the Down Syndrome Association of Houston as we unite for a common cause and raise funds at the 2019 Houston Buddy Walk®. Buddy Walk is from 10 am to 2 pm at the Sam Houston Race Park. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, take the first step and volunteer today! Help us spread the word; all are welcome for our day of celebration!
During your shifts, you will be helping out with a variety of tasks and activities such as:
- Event Set Up
- Welcome Lanes
- Activity Supervisors
- Stage Help
- DSAH Shop
- Volunteer Table
- Helping with Directions
- Walk Path Motivators
- Breakdown
Once you sign up for your shift, you will be assigned an activity which you will be informed of in advance. When signing up for groups, please mention the name of the group as well as the number of individuals attending in the “Additional Notes” section.
Important: If you need volunteer hours, please mention this when signing up in the “Additional Notes” section. By doing this, we will be able to prepare letters in advance for everyone.
Each shift includes 15 minutes of training before the actual activity starts. Please be sure to arrive on time so that you receive important information regarding your shift.
Background checks are not required for this opportunity.
