Are you handy with basic woodworking tools? Do you want to make a direct impact in your community?

The Houston ToolBank is seeking reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to help with wood cutting and preparation for our build projects, including picnic tables, garden beds, and other community-enhancing structures.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our Wood Cutting & Prep Crew, you will:

  • Use tools like table saws and miter saws to make accurate, basic cuts

  • Prepare lumber and materials needed for builds

  • Help organize and stage cut pieces for crew use

  • Assist with light cleanup around the workspace

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome volunteers who:

  • Are comfortable using or willing to learn basic woodworking tools

  • Can follow safety guidelines and work well as part of a team

  • Are dependable and ready to help bring projects to life

  • Previous experience is a plus but not required

Time Commitment

  • Flexible volunteer shifts available between open hours (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm)

  • Typical sessions are 2–4 hours
