Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and community-minded volunteers to help make the Houston Chicken Wing Festival a success. This is a high-energy, fast-paced event and we need people who are ready to show up, work hard, and have a great time doing it. As a volunteer you will receive a free festival entry & an official volunteer t-shirt. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about community, small business, food culture, and giving back to Houston.

General Volunteer Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older — volunteers under 18 must have a signed parental consent form
  • Must be available for the full duration of their selected shift
  • Must wear the official volunteer t-shirt provided on event day
  • Closed toe shoes are strongly recommended — Buffalo Bayou Park is a hilly outdoor venue
  • Bring a reusable water bottle
  • Must check in with the volunteer coordinator upon arrival
  • A positive attitude and commitment to Houston's community is a must

Volunteers will be split into the following shifts

Shift 1 — Setup Crew ⏰ 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM General venue setup including signage, tables, kids zone, and volunteer station prep before doors open. Will include physical labor to help vendors set up. 

Shift 2 — Gate & Entry Staff ⏰ 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM Managing entry lanes, verifying wristbands, collecting door donations, and welcoming guests as they arrive.

Shift 3 — VIP Host ⏰ 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM Welcoming VIP guests, managing the VIP area, and ensuring a premium experience for our highest level attendees.

Shift 4 — Event Operations ⏰ 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM  and 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM Vendor row monitoring, crowd flow, Kids Zone support, competition assistance, and donation station management during peak hours.

Shift 5 — Social Media & Content ⏰ 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM Capturing photos and videos throughout the event for Instagram, TikTok, and post-event recap content.

Shift 6 — Gate & Entry Staff (Relief) ⏰ 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM Relieving opening gate staff, managing late arrivals, and closing entry points at end of event.

Shift 7 — Breakdown & Cleanup Crew ⏰ 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Breaking down tables, removing signage, assisting vendors with load-out, and completing a full venue walkthrough.
