Description

The HUECONA Conference & Awards is a premier cultural and entertainment experience celebrating creativity, connection, culinary arts, fashion, film, music, business, and community leadership from Hollywood to Houston. Volunteers play a vital role in creating an unforgettable guest experience for attendees, speakers, performers, sponsors, media, and honorees.


Position Summary

HUECONA volunteers will assist with event operations, guest engagement, production support, set-up/strike, and hospitality throughout the conference and awards experience. Volunteers should be professional, energetic, dependable, and passionate about arts, culture, and entertainment.


Volunteer Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Registration

  • Welcome and check in attendees, VIPs, sponsors, and media
  • Assist guests with directions, schedules, seating, and event information
  • Support registration desk operations and credential distribution
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the event

Event & Production Support

  • Assist with stage transitions and backstage coordination
  • Support panel sessions, workshops, and award presentations
  • Help maintain event flow and timing
  • Assist vendors, exhibitors, and activation partners as needed

Hospitality & VIP Services

  • Support speaker and talent hospitality areas
  • Assist with green room preparation and guest accommodations
  • Help manage VIP lounges and networking experiences

Social Media & Content Assistance

  • Capture behind-the-scenes content for social media
  • Encourage attendee engagement and participation
  • Assist the communications team with live updates and event coverage

General Event Operations

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of conference areas
  • Support crowd management and attendee guidance
  • Perform additional duties assigned by event leadership


Qualifications

  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist where needed
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality
  • Interest in entertainment, arts, culture, media, fashion, culinary experiences, or community engagement preferred


Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old (or accompanied by approved guardian if under 18)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift light materials or supplies when necessary
  • Must attend required volunteer orientation/training
  • Must adhere to event dress code and professionalism standards

Commitment
