Join the Refugee Youth Mentoring (RYM) Program at Church World Service – Houston and make a lasting impact in the lives of refugee and immigrant youth!
Through this six-month mentoring program, volunteer mentors are matched with youth (ages 15–24) who are working toward academic, career, and life goals as they adjust to life in Houston.
As a mentor, you’ll meet with your assigned youth once a month (in-person or virtual) and participate in group mentoring sessions and community activities that build confidence, connection, and leadership.
What You’ll Do:

Meet with youth 1x/month for six months.

Support educational and career goals through mentoring.

Participate in monthly group mentoring and community activities.

Encourage cross-cultural learning and inclusion.
Ideal Volunteers:

Age 21 or older.

Passionate about supporting young people.

Culturally sensitive and open-minded.
-
Able to complete a background check and orientation (covered by CWS).
