If you're compassionate, fluent in English, and can volunteer a couple times per week, we want YOU to help a group of Houston adults learn to speak English. You'll meet some amazing people, experience the joy and fulfillment of helping others succeed, and know that you're making Houston a better place for all of us!
No prior teaching experience or second language is required. If this volunteer opportunity is for you and you are ready to make the commitment, we'll train you, match you with a group of adult learners, and support you as you get started on the exciting and hugely rewarding activity of helping your neighbors learn English as a second language (ESL).
Classes are 2 hours long and 2 days per week and meet either on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday in Spring Branch and West Houston.
We are currently in need of 2 morning (9am-11am) class teachers, 1 at our Main Campus (1625 Blalock Rd) on Tuesday/Thursdays mornings, and 1 our West Campus (2424 Wilcrest, #120) on Monday/Wednesdays mornings.
Classes start the week of September 11th and end November 20th.
