Fighting: Ukrainian War Photographers is an exhibition featuring 255 images captured by sixteen Ukrainian artists and photojournalists who are documenting the invasion of their country by Russia. Organized for the U.S. by FotoFest and curated by Jan Pohribný and Igor Malijevský with support from the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers.
You don’t have to be a photography expert to be a gallery host; a friendly face and an interest in photography is all that is required. FotoFest offers volunteer previews of each exhibition; an information sheet is handed out for each exhibition. If you cannot make the preview an information sheet can be emailed to you. Exhibition gallery hosts greet and assist visitors, as well as monitor the gallery.
Fighting: Ukrainian War Photographers is open October 5–November 18, 2023, Wed-Sat, Noon to 5PM at Silver Street Studios, Sawyer Yards in Arts District Houston.
