Description

FotoFest is seeking volunteers, 18 or older, to gallery hosts for REFUGEE, an important exhibition addressing the global refugee crisis. REFUGEE originated at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles California. A timely exhibition, REFUGEE allows audiences to engage with the plight of refugees and reflect on their condition. A core principle of REFUGEE is to present these diverse populations with both dignity and respect, even as they have endured often unwelcoming conditions and hostile environments in order to find their new beginnings. The exhibition includes work by photographers Lynsey Addario, Omar Victor Diop, Graciela Iturbide, Martin Schoeller, and Tom Stoddart.

Gallery hosts greet guests and assist with Virtual Reality headsets. Gallery Hosts allow us to keep exhibitions open to the public. REFUGEE is open May 12 to July 15, 2017. Gallery Hours are Wednesday–Saturday, 11am to 5pm. FotoFest is located in Silver Street Studios, 2000 Edwards Street, Houston 77007. Please contact Marianne if you are interested in volunteering 713 223 5522 x19 or info@fotofest.org.
