We are looking for people who are passionate about what we do, love working as part of a team, and have positive energy and personalities. If this describes you we would be happy for you to become a part of the Halo House team and donate your time and talents to our mission.
At Halo House, there are a lot of things that need to be done – answering phones, assisting guests, moving in new residents, pulling weeds, minor repairs, and everything in between. Whether you want to volunteer with a group or just on your own, we have something for everyone.
Qualifications: We are looking for people:
- Who can serve as an on-call maintenance resource to Halo House when issues arise. For example- AC/thermostat not working, lighting fixtures need replacement, pipes leaking, washer/dryer not working, dishwasher not working, garbage disposal not working, parking gate not working, building doors battery replacement, building painting (doors, walls, gates), etc.
- Who can conduct routine maintenance checks- pipes, AC/heating, air filtration, pest control, dryer vent cleaning, greasing door locks and hinges, fire extinguisher and fire/smoke detector check/replacement, parking gate functions, wrapping pipes in the winter, etc.
Experience you DON’T need: Knowledge of blood cancers, knowledge of doctors or other existing housing facilities in the Texas Medical Center, or apartment management experience.
