MISSION: BUG is a nonprofit dedicated to providing access to fresh veggies, educate the community about gardening and good nutrition and to create a safe gathering place.
PURPOSE: Fill a gap for fresh food and veggies in communities with high poverty, low transportation access or for families who lack access to a personal vehicle and where the area is designated a food desert, like Third Ward, Houston, TX.
HOW: Through corporate sponsorships, volunteers and generous donors like you, BUG is able to fulfill our mission in providing access to veggies to the greater Third Ward community.
DONATION DRIVE: As we gear up for the Fall 2023. we need your help once more! We are need of TOOLS, SUPPLIES, WATER, and SKILLED LABOR.
SEPTEMBER PRIORITY:
1. Clean Phase 4 and drop seeds and/ or seedlings
2. Replace sprinkler heads in Phase 1
3. Cover crop with mulch/ pine straw
