Calling all volunteers! Join Mayor Whitmire in supporting our students as they head back to school. Your help is needed on Saturday August 3, 2024. The volunteer need will be at the George R. Brown Convention Center located at 1001 Avenida De Las Americas Houston, Texas 77010. Parking will be available for volunteers. Volunteers must complete a COH waiver form to volunteer.
There will be two shifts available:
6:30am-10:30am or 10:30am-2:30pm
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers that attend all day.
Breakfast provided for morning shift volunteers.
Lunch provided for afternoon shift volunteers.
Volunteer responsibilities:
- registration
- floor monitors
- food distribution
- line management
- loading & unloading backpacks
Rhonda Sauter from the Mayor's Assistance Office will be the point of contact for the volunteers. Ms. Sauter will provide details to volunteers that register closer to the volunteer need. If you have any questions, volunteers can reach Rhonda via email at rhonda.sauter@houstontx.gov
