Volunteer: Help a puppy/dog, kitten/cat find their forever home

We are a foster based Houston area shelter rescue and in dire need of foster homes. We have many puppies and dogs, kittens and cats on a waiting list to get out of the shelter. We do not have a shelter and depend on individuals to provide a foster home to help us save them from the shelter. Once we have a committed foster home, we can save a puppy/dog or kitten/cat from the shelter. To foster you will need to care for the pet in your home and bring to adoptions on some weekends at one of our adoption locations until adopted.

Volunteer: Middle School and High School Quiz Bowl Tournament Moderating at Lycée International de Houston

Volunteers are needed for the Texas Challengers Quiz Tournaments (TCQT) middle school and high school Quiz Bowl tournament at Lycée International de Houston on Saturday, April 4. Most volunteers will serve as moderators and read questions to the students. Moderators will need to complete a quick 10-15 minute training before volunteering. Volunteers can also serve as scorekeepers. Training for scorekeepers takes about 5 minutes. Free pizza will be provided for lunch. Partial shifts are welcome.

About Domestic Truth Foundation


Domestic Truth Foundation is a Houston-based nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence through crisis intervention, case management, healing programs, advocacy initiatives, and systemic reform efforts. We are seeking a highly capable Director of Events Fellow to help build and lead our event infrastructure from the ground up.


This is a selective leadership-track fellowship.



Fellowship Overview


The Director of Events Fellow will work directly with executive leadership to design, execute, and systematize all major organizational events.


This is not a task-based internship. This is a strategic role for someone ready to think like an operations leader.


The selected Fellow will help build repeatable systems, sponsorship frameworks, vendor relationships, and scalable event models that support long-term organizational growth.



Core Responsibilities


Strategic Event Development

• Design event concepts aligned with organizational mission and growth goals

• Develop annual event strategy and calendar

• Create structured event budgets and projections

• Identify revenue-generating opportunities within events


Execution & Oversight

• Lead planning and coordination of fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and community programs

• Oversee vendor, venue, and sponsor coordination

• Develop detailed run-of-show documents

• Manage on-site execution and troubleshoot in real time


Sponsorship & Community Partnerships

• Assist with development of sponsor packages

• Support outreach to corporate and community partners

• Ensure sponsor fulfillment and visibility


Operational Infrastructure

• Build event standard operating procedures

• Create event tracking systems and documentation

• Conduct post-event analysis and performance reports

Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM) is partnering with some area grocery stores to help provide food for our food pantry. We just need some helpful individuals to pick up the donations from these retailers and help deliver them to CAM's facility.

WHAT do volunteers do?

Our volunteers help with all aspects of our life-saving operation. Volunteers sort donated medical supplies, prepare shipments, help manage our warehouse, and even work with our hospital partners to procure supplies. We also have volunteers who drive out to make scheduled donation pick-ups, test and repair medical equipment at all levels of expertise, help with fundraising and outreach, plan events, and assist with administrative needs.

We do not require any experience or medical background and will teach you everything you need to know.  With that said, we do love nurses and medical professionals! Engineers are also extremely valuable to us.  

 

HOW do I register?

New volunteers must create a profile online prior to volunteering.

*Minimum age to volunteer is 15. Volunteers under 18 will be prompted to print a release form for their parent/guardian to sign. They must bring the signed form when they come to the warehouse.  This release expires at the end of each calendar year so an updated release may be needed. 

HOURS:  Our individual volunteer hours are:

Cornerstone Family Resource Center (CFRC) is seeking community groups, businesses, churches, schools, and individuals to host a toiletry and cleaning supply drive to support low-income families living at Premier on Woodfair Apartments.


For many residents, everyday essentials like soap, detergent, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies are not covered by SNAP or other assistance programs. These items are often the first to be cut when families are choosing between rent, utilities, food, and medical needs. Your drive helps fill that critical gap and directly supports families’ health, dignity, and housing stability.

This event is more than a photo opportunity. It’s a day of service, dignity, connection, and compassion for our unhoused neighbors.  We believe strongly in giving back, and we’re building a team of volunteers who share that passion.

What We’re Looking For:

• Individuals who can help with setup, distribution, guest support, and cleanup
