Volunteer: Grant Writer

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to serve as a Volunteer Grant Writer for the Katherine and Everett Robinson Foundation. The Grant Writer will play a vital role in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives aimed at positively impacting the lives of youth and families in our community.

Responsibilities:

Research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources. Develop grant proposals and applications in collaboration with the executive director and program staff. Write compelling narratives that effectively communicate the organization's mission, goals, and impact. Compile necessary documentation, budget information, and supporting materials for grant submissions. Ensure timely submission of grant proposals and follow-up on grant applications as needed. Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop fundraising strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals. Excellent research skills, with the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities and gather supporting information. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Knowledge of grant writing best practices and familiarity with grant application processes. Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising is preferred but not required.

Time Commitment: This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, requiring an estimated time commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending on grant deadlines and project needs.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the logistical coordination of internal and external events, ensuring all stages of planning, development and execution are defined and achieved Research, analyze, plan, organize, coordinate, and implement initiatives to facilitate awareness of the KERF Collaborates with internal and external partners to create event collateral, ensuring the branding events support the KERF vision Manages the logistics and budget Interacts, coordinates and communicates with all levels of management, Provide event updates, and coordinate event activities Coordinates invitation solicitations, and onsite registration and post-event follow-up of surveys

 

Minimum Requirements

Meeting planning, project management and event marketing experience Ability to successfully collaborate with internal & external partners Prepare and manage budgets Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining the highest level of attention to detail and professionalism. Must be able to manage workload independently Strong organizational, logistical and time management skills and great client service Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written communication, including the ability to conduct clear, concise and compelling presentations Ability to effectively convene internal teams to collaboratively execute assigned projects by drawing on the appropriate organizational resources available Ability to negotiate and resolve project and team issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness General computer skills (including use of Microsoft Office, Outlook)
