Volunteer: 9/11 Day Meal Packing Event - Volunteers Needed

On September 11th, the National Day of Service and Remembrance, join your fellow Houstonians for a community-based project to fight food insecurity. This hands-on meal packing event will transform a day of tragedy into a day of unity, compassion, and service - a way to honor those lost by helping our neighbors in need. What Will Volunteers Do??Help assemble thousands of shelf‑stable meal kits that will be distributed to local nonprofits, senior‑serving organizations, and families facing food insecurity. No experience needed — just a willingness to serve.

Volunteer roles include Table Captain (leading meal packing lines), Heavy Lifter/Runner (stocking stations and keeping things moving), and welcoming and assisting volunteers. To ensure a safe, smooth, and successful event, the 9/11 Day team will assign volunteer roles on the day of the event based on physical abilities, event needs, and where support is most needed.
