TWST4GIRLS is interviewing potential mentors for youth girls ages 11-17. You will be working with youth from diverse backgrounds.

Youth graduate TWST’s Core Program as well-rounded young women who are purposeful, self-sufficient, and equipped with the tools needed to excel in life.

Experience is a bonus but not required. Training will be provided. This is an ongoing position as our youth are in need of consistent adult figures in their lives.

Weekend adoption events:                                                                                                                                                   Pets need to be picked up at one location in the Missouri City area and transported to the Katy PetSmarts.  They also need to be picked up at the end of the day and transported back to the Missouri City location. Pets will be in transport crates for weekend adoptions and vet drop off and pick up. Volunteers need to be 18 or older.

We are a foster based Houston area shelter rescue and are in dire need of foster homes.

We have many puppies and dogs, kittens and cats on a waiting list to get out of the shelter. We do not have a shelter and depend
on individuals to provide a foster home to save them at the shelter.

Once we have a committed foster home, we can save a dog or cat from the shelter.

Alzheimer's Association Support Group facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. 

You'll be training to serve as an co-facilitator with an experienced facilitator for a group that meets the second Wednesdays at 1 pm.

Qualifications:

· Ability to be empathetic and separate personal needs from group needs.

· Strong listening and effective communication skills.

· Ability to redirect and facilitate discussion as well as fulfill the duties and responsibilities as described in the Facilitator Agreement.

· Commitment to promote the mission and services of the Association and willingness to act as an extension of the Association.

· Experience with dementia as a family member or health care professional preferred but not mandatory.

Commitment Expected:

· Support Group Facilitators commit to a 1-year term meeting monthly.

· Orientation includes: online general volunteer orientation (1 hour) + program volunteer orientation (1 hour) + self-study or in-person role training with staff partner (~4 hours). Background checks are required as part of the volunteer selection process.

The ECDC - Houston Multicultural Center is looking for women to volunteer as volleyball and basketball coaches to support our Refugee Health Promotions program. Mutts & Meows Rescue needs volunteers to help with our inhouse cat care at 2 local Petsmarts in the Katy area. 

Multiple shifts are available 7 days a week. Shifts are 2 hour segments and tasks include feeding the cats, cleaning the liter boxes, cleaning the cages, and socializing with the cats.  Volunteers must be 16 years or older.  For the safety of the volunteers and the cats, all volunteers much be trained first.  Training session can be counted as volunteer hours.

The compassionate and dedicated team at A Serene Healthcare provides exceptional medical, psychosocial, spiritual, and volunteer support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses in Houston and surrounding areas. As a locally owned Hospice and Palliative Care company, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life of our patients. Our volunteer program at A Serene Healthcare has had to adapt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, we are currently seeking compassionate volunteers available during business hours (9 am to 5 pm) to assist our hospice office staff with tasks such as answering phones, inputting data, creating social media content, and additional clerical work. Volunteers skilled in filing papers and performing clerical tasks are especially needed and valued. A Door-to-Door Assessment of the flood affected areas. A questionnaire is utilized to determine the resident’s immediate recovery needs and to start the process on the long-term rebuild. Teams will be given packets for each home that was affected with important contact information and assistance.

Assist with organizing flood files and contacting residents. Provide assistance to individuals that come into the office to utilize the computers or fill out paperwork. Answer phones and provide support to office staff.

Assist with inputting assessments and contact information into the system. Verifying ownership of property through the Fort Bend County Central Appraisal District.

Assist with getting supplies to the work sites, picking up supplies from the POD (Point of Distribution) sites, running to the store for supplies. This individual must have access to a truck and/or trailer.

We at Encompass are looking for compassionate, patience, loving volunteers to spend time with our patients. They need and want someone to share their final days with and we want people with a nurturing nature to give them that most basic of needs, human contact. The Quality Assurance Support Volunteer will assist in organizing, maintaining, and auditing client case files across multiple programs, including Reception and Placement (R&P), Matching Grant (MG), Preferred Communities (PC) and Social Integration Microenterprises (SIMED). The volunteer will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date, secure, and easily accessible, while also providing language interpretation when needed, supporting data entry, reporting, and system development for efficient file management.

This role involves collaboration with various program teams to ensure adherence to grant requirements, particularly regarding file management and security. The volunteer will also participate in team meetings to contribute to progress reports and help develop strategies for improving quality assurance.

This role offers valuable experience in refugee resettlement, program administration, and compliance management. The volunteer will gain hands-on experience in case management, employment counseling, and the operational side of federally funded refugee programs.

Program Support and Compliance
• File Management: Organize and maintain both physical and electronic client case files. Ensure that documentation for all programs (R&P, MG, PC, etc.) is up to date, easily accessible, and secure.

The ECDC-Houston Multicultural Center will be offering English classes to the newest members of our community. We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate beginner English classes.
