Location: Montgomery County and surrounding areas
Purpose This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services department. The Recovery Services Client Care Program allows the Red Cross to rapidly meet disaster-caused needs by enabling clients to apply and receive financial assistance and/or community resources. The Client Care Program Service Associate supports the recovery of disaster affected individuals, households, and communities by providing referrals, advocacy, and financial assistance through RC Care (case management system).
Responsibilities:
Conduct Intake by interviewing the client and opening a case in RC Care
Provide Financial Assistance to qualified clients.
Conduct Follow-up and Recovery Planning Services
Provide Internal Referrals
Provide Community Referrals

Topics and questions will be provided – the volunteer will only need to facilitate the conversation and give the students space to practice speaking. Requirements: We ask that volunteers be 18 years or older and have basic English proficiency and comprehension skills. Volunteers will need to have a strong desire to improve the English language skills of students along with have a sensitivity to cultural difference. Having great patience, understanding, flexibility, and a positive attitude is key! * Previous volunteering and teaching background would be extremely beneficial* Club Sessions: The club will take place 1-2 times a week for 10 weeks with each meeting lasting 1 hour. We will begin in July. The dates and times of the meetings will be determined after we put together a group of volunteers. KEY FUNCTIONS
Portfolio management/expansion Engage in qualification, strategy and relationship building with national foundations and corporate foundation entities, with a view toward sustained transformational giving over time. The individual's portfolio will be a mix of larger-capacity grant-making foundations and corporate foundations whose mission and strategic giving aligns with Harvey Nexus Strategy and activities.
The size and mix of the portfolio will be based on the needs of the team and the division's strategic focus over the period of the campaign.
