Agency: Alzheimer's Association Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. The 13 Walks across Southeast Texas attract more than 10,000 participants and in 2014, raised $1.4MM growing 21%. The Houston Walk to End Alzheimer's was the 21st largest Walk in the nation.    You can help end Alzheimer's once and for all (and make new friends doing it) by serving as a member of the Walk Planning Committee at one of the 13 walks across Southeast Texas.  Planning committee members play an integral part in the success of the Walk by recruiting companies and individuals to join us in the fight against Alzheimer's. This year round-volunteering opportunity helps increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease while raising critical funds for programs and services right here in Southeast Texas.   Committee members will receive training and work in volunteer teams focusing on team recruitment, retention, and sponsorship.
The Alzheimer's Association is currently looking for committee volunteers to serve in the following communities:    Houston
The Woodlands Cypress Katy Sugar Land Galveston Baytown Beaumont, and College Station   For additional information, contact Amanda Duke at aduke@alz.org.
