Volunteer: MEN needed!

I know it might be strange, considering we are the Women's Fund, but we actually have been presented with a wonderful opportunity!

Our on-going What About Me? courses that we teach to girls ages 9-16 have been very successful, that we now have been asked to expand the curriculum. One of our partners has kindly asked if we can implement this curriculum to boys, because face it, EVERYONE needs health education.

With that being said, we need about 6 males interested in facilitating a group of young boys. There are two parts to training and background checks that are ran. The course will be held once a month until May. If you would like to volunteer or know of anyone who would do well with this opportunity, please do not hesitate to ask. We will be more than happy to give you more information on this exciting opportunity!

During the 10-week program, the volunteer will be trained in, and implement, the fall and/or spring sessions of What About Me? a course that helps girls ages 9-17 deal with essential health and self-esteem issues, including setting goals, body image, healthy relationships, health, and nutrition. During the 10-week program, the sessions will be held once a week for approximately 1 hour - 1.5 hours for ten consecutive weeks.

All interested volunteers must be 18 years or older and complete a background check.

Our What About Me? and Women’s Health Advocacy Program classes are facilitated by female volunteers due to the sensitive nature of their content.
