Volunteer: InternCherish Our Children Inc. is interviewing candidates to intern with our GEMS Program. GEMS - Gaining Empowerment in Middle School is a unique approach to the stress, stigma and shame that middle school students experience when they have had a parent in prison. Our internship program provides real-world, hands-on social and emotional training to Houston ISD and Aldine ISD students whose parents or loved ones are incarcerated. This is a perfect opportunity for a college student who is pursuing a degree in education, social services, criminal justice or psychology. It is also a great way for students studying in other fields to give back to the community in a way that helps students during one of the toughest periods of their lives. Opportunities are available in the summer and for the fall school semester. Agency: Cherish our Children Inc. Cherish Our Children Inc. is interviewing candidates to intern with our GEMS Program.
