Women Connection, Inc. is hosting our Tiny Treasures Community Event for single parents with children ages 0–3 years on September 27th from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Quality Inn & Suites NRG-Park – Medical Center (2364 S. Loop W., Houston, TX 77054).

We are seeking in-kind donations (baby essentials, toys, diapers, wipes, clothing, snacks, etc.) to help us bless families in need. Your generosity will go a long way in creating a memorable day of joy and support for these parents and their little ones.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us:
✔️ Organize and set up the event
✔️ Host fun activities and games for children ages 0–3
✔️ Assist families throughout the day

Position Title: Community Outreach Volunteer   Program: Glamour Girls and More  

Location: Alief Area - Webster and surrounding area

Commitment:[Specify hours per week/month; duration of commitment, e.g., 3 months, 6 months]  

Reporting To: Program Coordinator

About the Role: As a Community Outreach Volunteer for the Glamour Girls and More Program, you will play a crucial role in connecting with the community and uplifting young women aged 15-21, including aged-out foster youth.

This position is perfect for those who are passionate about youth empowerment, community engagement, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Community Engagement:   

- Actively seek out and build relationships with local schools, organizations, and community centers to promote the Glamour Girls and More program.   

- Collaborate with community partners to identify strategic opportunities for outreach and recruitment.

2. Event Coordination: 

 - Assist in organizing and promoting workshops, seminars, and events that align with the program’s mission of leadership, character, identity, and educational development. 

 - Help coordinate logistics for outreach events, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

3. Mentorship Support:   -

Facilitate connections between mentors and mentees, helping to foster relationships that promote personal and leadership development.   -

Encourage program participants to engage with the materials and skills presented during mentorship sessions. 4. Marketing and Communication:   

- Help develop and disseminate marketing materials, including flyers, social media content, and newsletters that inform the community about upcoming opportunities and events. 

 - Utilize social media platforms to increase program visibility and community engagement. 5. Feedback and Reporting: 

 - Gather feedback from participants and community partners to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts and identify areas for improvement.   

- Regularly report to the Program Coordinator on outreach activities and participant engagement metrics. Qualifications:

- Passion for youth empowerment, particularly for young women and marginalized groups. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.

- Experience in community outreach, event planning, or related fields is a plus, but not required.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities within the program.
