Homeownership Planning Corps is a nonprofit coalition, led by YHL, dedicated to helping future homeowners plan early to work, save, and build strong credit so they can achieve homeownership while still young.

This is a part-time unpaid volunteer role for the Captain of Homeownership Planning Corps at a place of work and is supported in the Houston, TX area. The Captain will be responsible for leading and coordinating homeownership planning advocating programs at the community.

The bike you are not riding holds the key to freedom for a refugee, veteran or young person who needs a way to work or school. Donate your bike to Freewheels and our volunteers will clean and repair it and provide a way for people to get to work or school.

Our greatest need is for adult mountain bikes and hybrids with 26-inch and 700c wheels. We also need youth bikes with 24-inch wheels and 20-inch wheels.

Volunteer: Garden Maintenance Event at the Bayland Center

Join us for some time in nature, tending to our community garden and beautifying our community. We will clean up the garden beds, water the plants, pick any ripe food and clean up the property if there’s any trash around the area.

Black United Fund of Texas will provide trash bags, sunscreen and bug spray. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes that can get dirty, bring gloves (we will have some extra if needed) and a water bottle. Restrooms are available on-site in the Bayland Center. Parking is available on site and on nearby neighborhood streets. The Bayland Center (2606 Greg St) is centrally located near downtown.

Black United Fund of Texas will provide trash bags, sunscreen and bug spray. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes that can get dirty, bring gloves (we will have some extra if needed) and a water bottle. Restrooms are available on-site in the Bayland Center. Parking is available on site and on nearby neighborhood streets. The Bayland Center (2606 Greg St) is centrally located near downtown.

CWS Houston is recruiting Volunteer Youth Mentors to support newcomer youth ages 15-24. Mentors will be responsible for facilitating once monthly group mentoring sessions with approximately 5 newcomer youth for a total of 6 months. This position requires a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, culturally competent individual - to work directly with the Client Care Manager - who is passionate about global health equity and thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.    Although this position is primarily remote, we would ask that you come to our Spring Branch warehouse for initial training and then occasionally thereafter.

•                               Client Communication & Coordination Serve as a primary point of contact for diaspora partners and other stakeholder funders.

Volunteers are needed to supervise approximately 25 children while mothers participate in required therapeutic programming on-site. Children's ages range from 1 to 17.
