Help Us Bring Holiday Joy to Local Children

Thank you for volunteering for the 2025 Annual Christmas Toy Drive on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Some volunteers are scheduled to arrive early at 10:30 AM to assist with toy sorting and event setup prior to distribution. Event hours are 12:00 PM–4:00 PM. Location: 2603 Cartwright Rd, Missouri City, TX 77489. Your support helps ensure a smooth, organized experience for families we serve. 

This Toy Drive allows us to place brand-new toys directly into the hands of children who would otherwise go without.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, Hope Impacts partners with Cross Road Church to offer the opportunity for the homeless community of Katy to come and have supper, fellowship together, take a shower, and receive necessities and clothes.  We need volunteers to help us facilitate this program. You must arrive promptly at 4:30 to receive your role and have time to ask questions if needed. If you cannot arrive at 4:30 pm, please email us directly at allie@hopeimpacts.org

Volunteers are needed for the Texas Challengers Quiz Tournaments (TCQT) middle school and high school Quiz Bowl tournament at Katy High School on Saturday, January 10. Most volunteers will serve as moderators and read questions to the students. Moderators will need to complete a quick 10-15 minute training before volunteering. Volunteers can also serve as scorekeepers. Training for scorekeepers takes about 5 minutes. Free pizza will be provided for lunch. Partial shifts are welcome.

Volunteer Opportunity: Financial Literacy Instructor

Are you passionate about helping others gain control of their finances and build a brighter future? We’re looking for a dedicated volunteer financial literacy teacher to lead engaging, beginner-friendly classes for adult learners. As a volunteer instructor, you’ll help students understand the fundamentals of personal finance—including budgeting, saving, credit, and money management—while empowering them to make informed financial decisions.

Responsibilities: Teach basic financial literacy concepts in an accessible, supportive way.   Develop or adapt lesson materials to meet the needs of adult learners. Encourage discussion and real-world application of financial skills. Inspire confidence and promote lifelong learning.

A home visitor is a volunteer who assists a blind adult with sight dependent tasks. For this area of town, we require someone on Sunday mornings.

Volunteers assist a blind adult with grocery shopping, mail reading, letter writing, bill paying, picking up prescriptions and/or running errands. Volunteers in this position provide companionship while maximizing independence for clients.

Dog Walkers walk/jog and take dogs to designated off-leash areas to make sure dogs are properly socialized and exercised. This opportunity requires a high level of physical activity. Volunteers are encouraged to leash train each dog as they walk it to the off-lease exercise areas.

The Chow Hound Program is designed to help our extra-skinny residents put on some much-needed weight!  Volunteers are asked to prepare extra/special meals, then to encourage and praise our Chow Hounds during feeding.  There are always dogs on this list, so we always need help feeding them - 7 days a week.  It is amazing what a few weeks of extra meals can do for our furry friends!

Cat Attendants socialize cats and assist potential adopters with any question they may have about the adoption process. Knowledge of cat behavior is helpful but not required.

Dog Condo Attendants will monitor potential adopters while they are looking to adopt our small dogs or puppies. This volunteer duty is responsible for checking potential adopter’s passes to ensure they are only looking at dogs they are approved to adopt, and bringing puppies to and from the meet and greet rooms. Volunteers answer questions about the animals and assist with meet & greets and the adoptions desk when busy.

Door Greeters are responsible for greeting potential adopters and explaining the rules of the adoptions building before they walk around. These volunteers are also responsible for answering any general adoption questions.

Essentially, muck and gut is the removal of flooded floorboards and drywall to prevent the growth of mold. Assist with getting supplies to the work sites, picking up supplies from the POD (Point of Distribution) sites, running to the store for supplies. This individual must have access to a truck and/or trailer.

Would you like to give back to your community? 

Become a mentor at Fort Bend Hope and help kids from grades 1st-5th with homework and reading. There is no experience necessary, just your desired to work with children.

Due to the recent COVID 19 pandemic our patients and families need us now more than ever. Our population is being largely affected by this deadly virus due to the fact of our older age demographics and preexisting diagnosis. By being apart of the donation delivery team, you will help distribute tissue and water by leaving them on our families doorsteps to retrieve. Come join our team and make a huge impact on the lives of many as our nation faces this huge transition. MUST BE 18 years old, undergo background check, and have a valid drivers license.

Volunteers are needed during this crisis with COVID-19. Many of our patients whether in their Personal Homes are in Nursing Homes are in need of companionship. Volunteers are need to call and check in on the elderly patients. We like to call just to see how things are going? Just to see if they have any needs are concerns for the Nurse or the CNA's.

The A Serene Healthcare team serves Houston and surrounding areas with quality care & compassion. We provide excellent medical, psychosocial, spiritual, and volunteer support for those facing life-limiting illnesses and their families. We are a locally owned, quickly growing, and a, quality of life dedicated Hospice and Palliative Care company. We mainly recruit volunteers/interns to be companions for our hospice patients, but due to COVID-19 we have had to switch gears. We have a lot of things around the office that we could use help with including answering phones, inputting data, social media content creation, or making copies to assist our hospice office staff. The Houston Humane Society Pet Pantry supports Houston residents in caring for their pets by providing free pet food and supplies to those well-meaning pet owners needing assistance. We have supplied over 4 MILLION MEALS to hungry pets... and counting!

Help us by handing out pet food to pet owners in need! Meet us at the following locations and times (see link below) to assist in handing out food to the pet owners needing assistance. All events are outdoors, please wear weather-appropriate clothing. Volunteers are recommended to bring sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses, and water with them. Most events are at parks, churches, and community centers in the parking lot. Clients come in drive-thru style and we load directly from our truck to their vehicles. Volunteers may be asked to lift up to 30 pounds.

The Resale Shop Boutique Assistant is responsible for sorting donations and displaying boutique items. Someone with an eye for designer brands would be ideal!

We are looking for a volunteer to assist on a weekly basis. This would not be a one-time or occasional commitment. 

Training would occur on a Tuesday or Friday between 10am-4pm. Once trained, you can pick any day to volunteer on Tuesday - Saturday for any amount of time between 10am-4pm.

Assist Red Cross in delivering mission by alleviating human suffering caused by disasters. Primary responses include single family and multi family fires.

Alzheimer's Association Support Group facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. 

You'll be training to serve as an co-facilitator with an experienced facilitator for a group that meets the second Wednesdays at 1 pm.

Qualifications:

· Ability to be empathetic and separate personal needs from group needs.

· Strong listening and effective communication skills.

· Ability to redirect and facilitate discussion as well as fulfill the duties and responsibilities as described in the Facilitator Agreement.

· Commitment to promote the mission and services of the Association and willingness to act as an extension of the Association.

· Experience with dementia as a family member or health care professional preferred but not mandatory.

Commitment Expected:

· Support Group Facilitators commit to a 1-year term meeting monthly.

· Orientation includes: online general volunteer orientation (1 hour) + program volunteer orientation (1 hour) + self-study or in-person role training with staff partner (~4 hours). Background checks are required as part of the volunteer selection process.

Provide a safe, comfortable, and seamless experience for Relay participants and build a volunteer team to manage a detailed event execution plan.
