US Vets will be hosting the Houston Stand Down to provide services and support for our city’s homeless veterans. Keeping in line with the true vision of the event, this year will have an overnight component, however, that won’t be possible without the support of our community. We will be housing approximately 500 homeless Veterans and are in need of volunteers.
Houston Stand Down is a two day event reaching out to homeless veterans with services such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA/Social Security benefits counseling/referrals for housing, employment and substance abuse treatment.
Volunteers are needed to help for many activities!
The Lone Star Veterans Association is currently looking for volunteers that are willing to dedicate their time to this event. Please email Ashley@lonestarveterans.org if you are interested in lending a hand!
