This high-impact event sponsored by CenterPoint Energy Foundation, will bring together residents, emergency response organizations, city and county agencies, non-profits, and volunteer groups in a collective effort to equip the Houston area for the upcoming hurricane season.
With participation from the City of Houston, Harris County, and numerous community-based organizations, the Get Ready Expo will feature a full day (10am - 3pm) of educational panels, interactive exhibits, and hands-on resources designed to help residents prepare for natural disasters.
This event is free and open to the public and serves as a critical effort in promoting safety, awareness, and resilience across the Houston area. WIth hurricane season approaching, access to timely, accurate, and actionable disaster preparedness information is essential. The Get Ready Expo provides a unique opportunity to reach thousands of residents in one place and help ensure our communities are ready before a storm hits.
CLINIC: An opportunity for at-risk community members with diverse abilities to engage and talk with providers and representatives knowledgeable and involved in disaster response and recovery measures in how to better prepare for events that pose risks. This clinic will provide a navigated and supported opportunity to address their individualized needs and complete their own PRINTED personal preparedness plan.
EXPO: FREE FAMILY PREPAREDNESS EVENT! The day includes panels, speakers, demonstrations, kids activities, exhibitors, and emergency vehicles providing information on preparing for disasters. The event culminates in a prize giveaway for all those in attendance, bringing an end to an exciting, informative day.
