Join BUFTX, Nature Heritage Society, Houston Wilderness and our partners for a farm tour to further showcase the BUFTX Controlled Environment Agriculture (CA) container farm. As part of the tour, we will be escorting you through the BUFTX Food Forest and CEA farm, while sharing some tips and tricks to grow and farm locally and/or hydroponically.
Our live cooking demonstration will show participants how to create delicious meals using some locally grown and harvested plants. We are also excited to share more about a few upcoming programs and projects that will be available for the 5th Ward and surrounding areas! You'll definitely want to come check these out!
The goal of BUFTX's Houston Agri-Power (HAP) garden/farm tour is to educate and encourage the local population to grow their own organic, healthy food in small urban spaces, which leads to eating locally and seasonally while reducing individual carbon footprints. Come learn more about HAP and local small gardens/farms leading the local food movement and feeding their populations!
The Houston Agri-Power (HAP) program was developed by BUFTX as a comprehensive and
collaborative problem-solving approach to addressing environmental and health disparities
in Texas, while providing economic opportunities through workforce development.
