Who We Are

Our mission is to end childhood hunger by delivering free, healthy meals to the doorsteps of Houston's hungriest preschool-aged children. For 1/3 of the children we serve, our meal is the only food they will receive for the day. We also like to think we deliver one more thing: hope.

What We Do

Every weekday, from 9 a.m. to noon, 40 volunteers gather around our tables to make sandwiches and fill brown bags with food. Our vans drive daily routes delivering the bagged meals to children whose families have signed up for our program through a simple application process. During summer months and holidays, meals are also provided to the older siblings of our clients who are usually fed through school-based free meal programs.

In addition to five nutritious weekly meals, we also provide our children with additional resources such as: free books four times a year, Easter hams, Thanksgiving turkeys, a holiday party and toy distribution, and information on critical community resources to help families access help with other issues they are facing due to extreme poverty.

With your help, lunch bag by lunch bag, we believe we can reach our goal of ending hunger among preschool-aged children in Houston.
