Who We Are

The Empty Shelter Project (TESP), a program of K-9 Angels Rescue, Inc., works to reduce pet overpopulation in Greater Houston by providing free, high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter services in underserved communities—available to pet owners of all income levels. Each year, TESP hosts five MASH-style pop-up clinics, where hundreds of pets are spayed or neutered in a single day, in addition to smaller clinics held throughout the year at our facility. Since its founding in 2017, TESP has provided more than 32,000 free surgeries, vaccinations, and microchips—improving the health of pets and preventing hundreds of thousands of future animals from contributing to our region’s overpopulation crisis.

What We Do

The Empty Shelter Project brings free, high-quality spay and neuter services directly to underserved communities across Greater Houston, making it easy for pet owners of all income levels to access care and be part of the solution to pet overpopulation.
