Who We Are
Urban Agriculture Impact (UAI) is a Houston-based nonprofit focused on eliminating food deserts and strengthening community health through urban agriculture.
-
We mobilize volunteers to grow food, restore green spaces, and expand access to fresh produce in underserved neighborhoods.
-
Our work began in Houston’s Third Ward and is designed to scale across other communities facing food insecurity.
-
UAI partners closely with Harlem River Farms (HRF), a trusted community grower and educator, to deliver hands-on programs and measurable impact.
-
Together, we combine nonprofit leadership, community partnerships, and volunteer action to build stronger local food systems.
What We Do
Mobilize volunteers to build, maintain, and expand community gardens and urban farms across Houston.
-
Host Garden Crawls — coordinated, multi-site volunteer days focused on planting, harvesting, and infrastructure improvements.
-
Lead Grow More, Spend Less workshops that teach residents how to grow food at home and reduce grocery costs.
-
Organize Tree Giveaways to restore urban canopy and empower residents with planting knowledge.
-
Spearhead the Greening of Third Ward, a large-scale initiative restoring green spaces and expanding local food production.
-
Support produce distribution, starter plant giveaways, and hands-on education in partnership with Harlem River Farms.
