Who We Are

Church World Service (CWS) is a global humanitarian organization founded in 1946 with a mission to transform communities around the world through sustainable relief, development, and refugee support. CWS Houston provides refugee resettlement, case management, and community integration programs that promote dignity, self-sufficiency, and inclusion for newcomers. The Refugee Youth Mentoring Program embodies this mission by empowering refugee and immigrant youth to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and achieve educational and career success through meaningful mentorship and community connections.

What We Do

The Refugee Youth Mentoring Program at Church World Service – Houston helps refugee and immigrant youth (ages 15–24) strengthen their educational, vocational, and life skills through mentoring, case management, and community engagement. We connect youth with trained volunteer mentors who provide guidance, academic support, and encouragement as they navigate school, career planning, and community life in Houston. Our program also offers monthly workshops, leadership activities, and collaboration with local organizations to promote youth empowerment and belonging.
