Houston Food Bank

Founded in 1982, the Houston Food Bank’s mission is to provide food for better lives. Houston Food Bank is a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network, with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. Houston Food Bank is America’s largest food bank in distribution, and leads hunger relief in 18 southeast Texas counties. We distribute fresh produce, meat and nonperishables and prepare nutritious hot meals for kids in our state-of-the-art Keegan Kitchen.

We box and prepare food for distribution through our network of non-profits, communities of faith, schools, and medical providers.  We also have programs that improve health and educational outcomes and a team that works on civic engagement and policy change.
